Surrealistic Photo Montage

My theme was to look in the eyes and see a path to go on with life. People think that life is just one thing and you have to what life tells you when its not. The path means go on. The birds are flying away meaning freedom.

Surrealistic Theme

My idea that i have for this project is something to do with me being free.At this age we all have issues that we all want to be older and that we want life to go by. But it would wbe an idea of me doing something in a way and seeing the world through my eyes in a way that i am by my self and no one telling me what so ever.

Surrealism: Traditional and Digtal

Artist’s Name: Giorgio de Chirico
Title: The Son Of Men
Date:  1910’s

Description:  The painting consists of a man in an overcoat and a bowler hat standing in front of a short wall, beyond which is the sea and a cloudy sky. The man's face is largely obscured by a hovering green apple. However, the man's eyes can be seen peeking over the edge of the apple. Another subtle feature is that the man's left arm appears to bend backwards at the elbow. About the painting Magritte said, The Son of Man should not be confused with The Great War on Façades... , another Magritte painting featuring similar imagery. Both feature a person standing in front of a wall overlooking the sea.
Analysis: This picture is very settled, a guy with an apple in his face.  To me it looked like his just looking out to the see. I don’t understand why there is an apple in his face but I guess that’s what the painter had in mind.
Interpretation: The apple on his face is very confusing. To me it seems like he is hiding from something like he doesn’t want someone to find or to see him.
Judgment:  I like this painting. It’s like a mystery with it. The title is “The Son of Men” another thing I don’t understand why because it’s just him and the apple and the sea in the picture

Artist’s Name: Susan Sontag
Title: Melancholy Objects’ in On Photography
Date:  1972

Description:  The exhibition currently showing at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography is the first major show in Japan to focus on the photographic aspects of the Surrealist movement. The 1985 exhibition “L’amour Fou” (Mad Love), curated by Jane Livingston and Rosalind Krauss, was groundbreaking in terms of its arguments of the centrality of photography to the Surrealist endeavor. This exhibition introduces the movement to a potentially new audience and extends the debate surrounding photography’s historical influence on its very definition.
Analysis: This picture is very light and nothing is happening within it. As if we would think that there would be people on it riding the ride like we always see them. But im guessing the artist wanted to show how calm it was.
Interpretation: I think that people would look at this and think to themselves “ why is there no one on it?”  But they would have to think why there isn’t anyone on it and how calm it is when there isn’t anyone on it.
Judgment:  In all I think this is a great photo because they artist made it seem like it’s a little girls dream to see one and also it looks like it’s in the middle of the street for some reason.
